A Brazilian Blowout is not the same as a having a chemical straightening. It does not break down and then rejoin the bonds in your hair like perming/straighting services do, therefore it cannot make you hair straight permanently or remove the curl. Rather, it uses essential amino acids to infuse each strand of your hair with loads of moisture creating a smooth, silky result that then reduces the frizz significantly from your hair. This additional moisture improves the feeling of your hair by creating a continual hydrated state; it reduces your blowdrying time as the hair is in a much healthier and moisture filled condition (which means you aren't spending your blowdrying time working away at smoothing out frizz); and it reduces your hair being susceptible to the weather - humidity, rain or dry heat, your Brazilian Blowout protective layer will be keeping your hair-confidence securley in place.
Step 1. Your hair will be shampooed...a lot...around 7 times in fact! This opens the cuticle of your hair right up giving the Brazilian Blowout solution the best possible access to being absorbed into the depths of your strands.
Step 2. The Brazilian Blowout solution will be applied to your hair after which you will be left to relax while your hair absorbs all of this rich goodness. In this 30-45 minute space of time you can enjoy the range of books on our bookshelf, take advantage of the break in your schedule to care for your nails with our nail polishes, or nibble away on one of our delectable treats (life is hard, we know)
Step 3. The solution will be rinsed from your hair, shampooed (again! But not 7 again) and then you will get to indulge in a 10 minute scalp and neck massage while your hair this time absorbs the Brazilain Blowout Masque Treatment.
Step 4. Your hair will then be blowdried and straightened to perfection. In fact, to lock the service in, each small section of your hair will have the straightening irons run over it up to 10 times (which is where the bulk of the time of this service comes from). There is no product residue left in your hair and you are left looking like you just had a straight blowdry done.
Step 5. Touch your hair...again, and again, and again. Once the ironing is done you will immediately feel and see the difference in your hair, and your hands won't be able to stop being attracted to it! You can wash your hair again any time you like, tie it up or even jump in a pool! The service will already be set in your hair by the time you leave the salon. If you want your curls back straight away, you can even wash it as soon as you get home (though with your hair being silkier and straigher than it's ever been before, you may just find you want to enjoy that for a bit).
Step 6. Use the Brazilian Blowout home hair care products to maintain the service. For the first two weeks the Deep Cleansing Masque must be used in place of the conditioner. After that we suggest the Masque be used every 1-2 weeks (depending on how often you wash your hair) and then continue on with the Braziian Blowout Shampoo and Conditioner as normal (retail products are not included in service price).
Q. Who can have a Brazilian Blowout?
A. Anyone who has puffy, frizzy, dry or damaged hair. The treatment has been tested on every hair type (fine/course/frizzy/curly), as well as hair that has been permed, Japanese straightened and extensions. Through proper communication and tweaking applications to the specific needs of each Mary's hair type, everyone can benefit from the Brazilian Blowout smoothing treatment.
Q. What kind of look will you get from the Brazilian Blowout?
A. The hair will be left significantly frizz-reduced, shiny, effortlessly manageable while keeping plenty of body and bounce. There will still be the option to wear hair curly/wavy (this treatment does not remove natural curl/wave in the hair, though it may tame it down slightly) and the freedom to blow dry hair smooth and straight in a fraction of the time it used to take prior to receiving the treatment.
Q. Can I still have a Brazilian Blowout if I have highlights and/or colour?
A. Yes, the Brazilian Blowout will actually improve the health of colour-treated/highlighted hair by conditioning the hair and sealing down the cuticle, therefore enhancing colour whist reducing frizz and creating radiant shine. If the hair is significantly damaged by chemical services it may be suggested that it needs to get into a better state of condition before the Brazilian Blowout service can be performed. Your stylist will guide you on this after examining your hair.
Q. Is the Brazilian Blowout going to make my hair straight?
A. If your hair is wavy, the Brazilian Blowout will make your hair appear naturally straighter and healthier, reducing out some of your wave. If your hair is very curly, it will minimize frizz while not taking away from your natural wave/curl. If you have straight, frizzy hair, this treatment will eliminate frizz helping you achieve an effortlessly straighter, smooth effect. We do find your hair will 'settle in' over a 2 week period. Some of the natural texture/curl may be reduced in this period however it will bounce back.
Q. How long does the Brazilian Blowout last?
A. The Brazilian Blowout will last for 12-14 weeks if the Açai After-Care Maintenance product line is used. The Brazilian Blowout is a cumulative treatment, in that the more you receive it, the healthier the hair will be and the longer the results will last. We recommend getting your treatments done every 12 weeks to increase and maintain the highest quality results.
Q. Can you apply the Brazilian Blowout on top of other relaxers and strengtheners?
A. Yes. The Brazilian Blowout works really well on chemically treated hair, and helps to improve the condition of the hair by fortifying each strand with essential amino acids. The Brazilian Blowout is great to perform when someone is trying to move away from having relaxers or Japanese straighteners. It puts movement back into the hair, allowing the hair to look its best.
Q. Will my hair lose volume if I have a Brazilian Blowout?
A. No, your hair will not lose volume as a result of having a Brazilian Blowout. Your hair will maintain its natural volume and you will still receive great bend and memory when blow-drying and/or using a curling iron.
Q. Can you colour your hair the same day you receive a Brazilian Blowout?
A. No. You must leave 2 weeks between a colour service and a Brazilian Blowout. We recommend having the Brazilian Blowout done first, then getting the colour done the 2 weeks after as the vibrancy of your colour can be reduced due to the Brazilian Blowout service steps. We find colours performed on Brazilian Blowout treated hair in this order have more vibrancy and maintain their colour longer.
